RouterHOWTO Build An Adamantix Router

A while ago I decided to retire my old (Pentium 133 based) router and replace it with a new system. Since it should run 24/7 in my dorm it had to be quiet, so the only real choice was a VIA ITX based system.

I choose the CL 6000E board (which is now superseeded by the PD series) with 2 NICs and a Morex Cubid 3688 case. To guarantee silent operation the system does not have a hard drive but loads the OS from a CF card into a RAM disk on startup. The OS is Adamantix, a Debian based GNU/Linux with focus on security (formerly known as Trusted Debian).
